MM2 Codes: Do Any Work?

Every public Murder Mystery 2 code, the knife or pet each one gave, whether any still works in 2026, and why free Godly code offers aren't real.

Every public MM2 code

None of them works. The MM2 Wiki's codes page has said "There are no working codes right now" since June 2020, and it still said so when we checked in October 2026. It records 17 public codes, sixteen for a knife and one for a pet, the newest of them COMB4T2 from May 2020:

All 17 items now change hands only in trades. The wiki's pages don't all spell the codes the same way: Neon's appears as both N3ON and N30N. With every code expired, no spelling will work.

What was an MM2 code?

A code was a short word you typed into your Murder Mystery 2 inventory to get an item for free. Nikilis, who made the game, added codes on 28 December 2014, three days after the game became Murder Mystery 2. His tweet announcing the first one, F1RSTC0D3, gave players 48 hours to use it. The early codes didn't last long: the ones for 2015 and Neon worked for 24 hours, and Goo's for five days.

How were MM2 codes announced?

The wiki says codes were almost always posted on Nikilis's Twitter account, @NikilisRBX, and sometimes on JD, the YouTube channel run by Thexz and didi1147. A public code was one word, the same for everyone, and you typed it straight into the game.

Did a code ever give a Godly?

Not a public one. The only Godlies the wiki ties to codes are the five Eternal knives, and those codes came with official MM2 merch sold during promotions between 2016 and 2020. The merch sold out, so Eternal, Eternal II, Eternal III, Eternal IV and Eternalcane are trade-only now.

Other codes the wiki records

  • Nik's Scythe, an Ancient, comes only from personal codes Nikilis gives to people who reported bugs to him and to friends. There is no public code for it.
  • SharkSeeker and Dartbringer, two Unique guns, come with codes packed with Nerf blasters, redeemed on Roblox's website rather than in MM2. The wiki still lists them as obtainable this way, and neither gun can be traded.
  • An Amazon Prime Gaming offer gave the Void knife until it expired on 22 February 2023.

Why are free Godly codes a scam?

Because there has never been one to give. No public code gave a Godly, and none has worked since 2020. A code generator, a site that unlocks a code once you finish a task, or a stranger in your Discord DMs offering a free Godly has nothing real to hand over, so whatever it asks of you is the point.

Fake codes even reached the wiki's own codes page. In July 2017 it listed a "Godly code" for 11 days, until an editor removed it because it didn't work. In May and June 2019 it was edited again and again to add "leaked" codes for an Ancient knife, beside a trick for a free knife that only needed your Roblox username and password, sent to an email address. Editors kept removing it, and the page is now locked so only the wiki's administrators can edit it.

Every public code was typed into the game itself, so the rule is short: nobody legitimate needs your password, your 2-Step code, or an item from you first.

What actually gets you a Godly?

Godlies come from MM2's boxes, events, gamepasses and crafting, or from other players by trading. How to get Godlies in MM2 goes through each route, and our list of MM2 Godlys shows the ones we sell.
